FOCUS Festival 2026 is more than a festival, it is about connecting people with the power of nature. Arrive by kite or alongside cheering local fishermen in a traditional pirogue, cruising across one of the world’s most breathtaking lagoons in a truly unique atmosphere. This world’s first experience is something participants will never forget. The positive energy it creates is truly incredible.
Founded by Wildert Mestdagh, Wim Tellier, and Yenno Tellier, FOCUS unites action sports, large-scale land art, and Malagasy culture to create real impact. Every structure built for the festival, including the iconic giant water jug stage, is designed to be donated and reused by the local community.

The downwinder
Step out of your comfortable lodge, pump your kite, or join a local fisherman in a traditional sailing boat and set course on the downwinder to FOCUS Festival, the biggest entry ticket in the world. Your entry ticket is your custom kite or sail. Ride your custom kite or sail across one of the world’s most breathtaking lagoons, alongside traditional sailing boats and fellow kitesurfers. Feel the energy of cheering fishermen and perfect wind conditions as you fly with the wind toward the remote fishing village of Tsiandamba.
the party
When the boats land in Tsiandamba, the vibe can truly begin. Like a scene from the Vikings series, the boats run ashore, raw, powerful, and spectacular, in one of the most remote and unique fishing villages imaginable. What follows is a beach festival together with the local community: sunset cocktails, kite sessions on the water, and an energetic blend of Malagasy and global music. A moment where cultures meet, where celebration and authenticity come together. Something to truly look forward to, and an experience found nowhere else in the world.
The community
The community is at the heart of everything we build. The stage is constructed from collected clean-water jugs, gathered and transported to later provide the local community with water storage. The sails, transformed into art pieces inspired by your iris, are donated to local fishermen. Pirogues are repaired, toilets are installed and donated, and lasting infrastructure remains behind. The community is fully welcomed into the festival, not as spectators, but as part of it, sharing the music, the energy, and the celebration. Everything is created to give back, leaving a positive and tangible impact long after FOCUS ends.

Traveling to The Festival
First, book your international flight to Antananarivo. Next, book a domestic flight to Toliara. We strongly recommend planning enough time between these flights, ideally one overnight stay in Antananarivo. For flight bookings, you can contact Peter from High Tech Travel, a travel agency we work with that can arrange everything for you. Of course, you are also free to book your flights yourself. Once you arrive in Toliara, you can book your local transport with Anthony. From there, enjoy a 2–3 hour beautiful drive to the FOCUS Festival location.

Traveling During The Festival
Throughout the FOCUS Festival, transport is coordinated with one trusted local partner, offering scenic 4×4 transfers from Toliara to Ankasy along a coastal route of approximately 2.5 hours. The journey leads to one of Madagascar’s most remote lodges, where a hidden paradise reveals itself. During the festival week, guests may also book transfers between lodges, beaches, and festival locations at preferential festival rates, ensuring a smooth and refined experience throughout their stay.
